Personal Injury & Workers' Compensation Lawyer

I’ve spent my entire career fighting for people who need a strong voice and a fair chance in the legal system. Whether my clients are facing criminal charges, municipal violations, or a work related injury, my goal is always the same — to ensure they are heard, respected, and treated with dignity. Justice isn’t just about the law; it’s about people, and every person deserves to be represented with compassion and care.

As the proud mother of five, I’ve learned the value of patience, empathy, and balance — qualities that have shaped the way I practice law. My role as both a parent and an advocate has taught me that every individual, regardless of their circumstances, deserves to have someone standing beside them. Every day, I work to give my clients that same level of support and attention.

My path to becoming a lawyer began with an interest in understanding human behavior. I studied psychology and sociology at Fairfield University in Connecticut, where I developed a deep appreciation for how social and emotional forces affect people’s lives. That understanding became a foundation for my work in the criminal justice system, where I started my career as a Senior Probation Officer in Middlesex County.

While working full-time as a probation officer, I attended Seton Hall University School of Law at night. That experience taught me the importance of perseverance and hard work — values that I carry into every case I handle. After earning my law degree and being admitted to the New Jersey State Bar, I began representing clients as a Public Defender in Hudson and Monmouth Counties. During those years, I refined my trial skills and gained firsthand experience representing people at some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

In 1997, I joined Shebell & Shebell, LLC, continuing my commitment to help individuals navigate the complexities of the justice system. My work has taken me through criminal, municipal, and workers’ compensation courts. Each case presents a new challenge — and a new opportunity to make a difference.

What motivates me most is the trust my clients place in me. Many of them come to me scared, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their future. I make it my priority to listen, explain every step of the process, and fight tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome. My background in psychology and years of courtroom experience help me balance empathy with assertiveness — a combination I’ve found essential to effective advocacy.

I believe that compassion and strength are not opposites; they are partners. Being a good lawyer isn’t only about knowing the law — it’s about understanding people. Whether I’m cross-examining a witness or standing beside a client in court, I remember that my purpose is to protect, guide, and empower those who need help finding their voice.

At Shebell & Shebell, I’m proud to work alongside attorneys who share my dedication to justice and fairness. Together, we strive to make the legal system more humane, more accessible, and more responsive to the people it serves. Every case matters, every client matters, and I’m honored to stand with them in their fight for justice.
