Jack Sanders

Attorney Jack Sanders Headshot

Personal Injury & Workers' Compensation Lawyer

For more than two decades, I’ve devoted my life to standing up for people who have been wronged — individuals who deserve a voice when facing corporations, government agencies, or employers that have failed them. Every day, I’m reminded that the law is more than a career — it’s a calling to protect fairness, dignity, and human rights. I’m proud to serve clients who inspire me through their strength and courage to fight back against injustice.

My journey began in Chicago, where I tried hundreds of cases before even graduating law school. Illinois has a unique program that allows law students to practice under supervision, and I took full advantage of it — handling trials and appeals for the City of Chicago while studying at Loyola University School of Law. Working in the crowded courtrooms beneath the historic Daley Center, I learned to think quickly, argue passionately, and stand firm even when facing overwhelming odds.

After earning my J.D. and passing both the Illinois and New Jersey bar exams simultaneously, I began my career as a trial attorney. Within only five years of practice, I earned the distinction of being certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney — the fastest possible path to certification. That recognition reflects my belief that justice must be earned through preparation, persistence, and respect for the truth.

Over the years, I’ve recovered millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for victims of negligence, discrimination, and abuse. My cases have ranged from serious personal injuries and consumer fraud to police misconduct and wrongful incarceration. I fight for people who have suffered at the hands of powerful institutions — not just to recover compensation, but to restore dignity and accountability where it’s been lost.

Learn more about the dedicated lawyers who make up Shebell & Shebell, LLC. Each member of our team shares the same commitment to justice, compassion, and results for every client we represent.

I believe deeply in using the law as a force for good, both inside and outside the courtroom. Beginning in 2009, I started speaking publicly about New Jersey’s anti-discrimination laws and the importance of equal rights. In 2010, I became a regular guest on Hear New Brunswick Radio, where I discussed topics like marriage equality and civil rights reform. I’ve always believed that lawyers should use their voices to educate and empower the public, not just argue cases.

That same commitment to justice led me to Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014, following the death of Michael Brown. I traveled there to provide jail support to protesters who had been unlawfully arrested. It was a reminder that the fight for equality doesn’t stop at the courthouse door — it exists wherever people’s rights are being violated. Experiences like these have shaped not just how I practice law, but who I am as a person.

When I joined Shebell & Shebell, LLC, I found a team that shares those same values — a group of lawyers who believe in fighting for the underdog and giving clients the strength to stand against injustice. Here, I represent people in personal injury and employment law matters, helping them navigate the toughest moments of their lives with honesty, determination, and respect.

Every client I represent reminds me why I chose this profession. The law isn’t just about winning cases; it’s about restoring balance and protecting what’s right. My promise is simple — to fight tirelessly for those who have been wronged, to speak truth to power, and to make our communities fairer and safer for everyone.
